What an inspection can tell you, what it cannot promise and what happens after you send us the car details.

What inspection options are available?

Essential Inspection is $218.90 including GST ($199 excluding GST) and is a straightforward professional check for signs of anything abnormal, with useful photos and a plain-English report. Diagnostic Inspection is $306.90 including GST ($279 excluding GST) and is a more specialist, in-depth assessment including diagnostics. The same options and prices apply to buyer and seller inspections.

Do I pay through the website?

No. During pre-launch, the No Lemons website collects enquiries only and does not take payment. We pass your enquiry to the mechanic, who confirms availability and arranges payment directly with you.

What is a pre-purchase car inspection?

It is an independent assessment of a used vehicle before you commit to buying it. We look at accessible areas, record visible condition and flag observations that may deserve attention, another specialist opinion or a question for the seller.

Is it actually worth getting a used car inspected?

If the car is worth thousands of dollars, spending a little to understand it properly is usually sensible. An inspection cannot remove every risk, but it can uncover information that is hard to get from an ad, a tidy detail or a quick lap around the block.

Can you inspect cars from dealers and private sellers?

Yes. We can inspect vehicles at private addresses and dealerships across the Perth service area, provided the seller or dealer agrees to safe, suitable access.

Do I have to organise everything with the seller?

Send us the seller or dealer details and we can help coordinate access once they have agreed to the inspection. It saves you from playing appointment tennis between three people.

Do I need to attend?

Not necessarily. If access is confirmed with the seller or dealer, the inspection can usually go ahead without you standing beside the car. We will confirm the practical details beforehand.

What will I receive?

You will receive a clear report covering the accessible areas assessed, the observations recorded and supporting photographs where relevant. It is designed to help you see what matters and decide what to do next.

Can sellers arrange an inspection before listing?

Yes. A seller inspection helps you understand the car before advertising it and gives careful buyers more than a line saying “first to see will buy”.

What does No Lemons Verified mean?

Only a seller’s Diagnostic Inspection may qualify; Essential Inspection cannot. Verified means the vehicle met the No Lemons standard, although minor advisories may still be disclosed. It is earned, not automatic, and does not guarantee that a used vehicle will never need repairs.

How long does No Lemons Verified last?

Verified status is valid for 30 days from the date of the qualifying Diagnostic Inspection. After 30 days the badge and status automatically expire, and a new Diagnostic Inspection is required before it can be renewed.

What other verification statuses might appear?

Pending means the assessment or required confirmation is incomplete. Owner Resolved — Buyer Review Required means the owner says an item was fixed, but no Verified badge is issued and the buyer should review it. Not Verified — Repairs Required is used when significant mechanical, structural or safety-related findings require repair.

Do you guarantee the car will never have problems?

No—and anyone who does deserves a raised eyebrow. A used car is a complex machine. The report reflects accessible areas and observations on the day; faults can be hidden, intermittent or develop later.

How long does an inspection take?

It depends on the vehicle, its condition, the location and the access available. The mechanic will confirm the expected appointment window after receiving the enquiry.

Do you service all of Perth?

At launch, standard inspection pricing covers the Perth metropolitan area. Send the vehicle suburb and we will confirm coverage before an appointment is arranged.

Do you offer regional inspections?

No. Regional inspections outside the Perth metropolitan area are not currently offered. They may cost more if introduced in future, but there is no approved regional price at launch.

Which vehicle types do you inspect?

The standard launch service covers passenger cars, SUVs, utes and light vans. EVs and hybrids, classics, prestige vehicles and heavily modified vehicles are by arrangement. Motorcycles, heavy trucks and buses, caravans and motorhomes, and vehicles that are unsafe or unable to be inspected are not currently offered.

Does the inspection tell me what the car is worth?

It is an inspection, not a formal valuation. The findings may help you think about the asking price and possible costs, but market value also depends on factors outside the vehicle assessment.
